KING, DEEP and BRANAMAN, has been serving Western Kentucky since 1927, providing representation in the areas of Insurance Defense, Civil Litigation, Probate/Estates, Health Law, Construction Law, Workers Compensation, Malpractice, Real Property, Family Law, and Creditor's Rights.
KING DEEP and BRANAMAN is an experienced and professional legal partnership with an emphasis on defense. We have seven (7) attorneys, consisting of three (3) Partners and two (2) Associates, two (2) of counsel attorneys, all with staff and legal assistants/para-professionals.
The office is conveniently located, in Henderson, Henderson County, Kentucky, though KING DEEP and BRANAMAN can and does practice cases throughout western Kentucky. With affordable access to most jurisdictions west of Louisville, our location helps curtail litigation expense and travel with competitive rates. We expect results. We work hard to please, and maintain high standards of service with pro-active litigation and communication to our clients.
Our location is benefited by quick access to I-64, I-69, the Pennyrile Parkway, and the Western Kentucky Parkway, so travel is convenient and economical. Our location also facilitates quick and easy access to experts or medical facilities across the state or nearby Evansville, IN or in Louisville or Nashville.
OUR ATTORNEYS
H. Randall Redding
PARTNER
Randall joined the firm in 1982 as an associate, before being named a Partner.
He attended the University of Kentucky earning a bachelor of arts degree. He then went on to the University of Kentucky and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1982, and became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 1982. Randall also became a member of the Indiana Bar in 1990.
Randall focuses on medical malpractice, insurance defense, municipal and utility law, criminal law, and general civil litigation.
Randall is also a member of Rotary, and a regular volunteer with the Brain Injury Adventure Camp.
Eric Shappell
PARTNER
Eric joined the firm in 2008 as an associate, before being named a Partner in 2016.
He attended the University of Southern Indiana earning a bachelor of science degree in 2003. He then went on to Southern Illinois University and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2006, and became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 2006.
Eric focuses on real property law, municipal law, creditor's rights, wills and probate law, and general civil litigation.
Eric is very active in the community, and has been a board member for Friends of Audubon, Junior Achievement, Holy Name School Council, Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, the Henderson City Lions Club, and the Brain Injury Adventure Camp.
C Donald Thompson, Jr.
Partner
Don re-joined the firm in 2019 as an associate after having been with the firm for several years before being opening an office of his own.
He attended Kentucky Wesleyan earning a bachelors degree in business administration in 1991. He then continued his education at the Chase School of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1997. He became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 1998.

Sharon Wright Farmer
Associate
Sharon joined the firm in 2014 as an associate.
She attended Western Kentucky University earning a bachelor of arts degree. She then continued her education at the University of Louisville and earned her Juris Doctorate in 2014. She became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 2014.
Sharon focuses on municipal and utility law, family law, and general civil litigation.
Sharon is an active member and vice president of the board of directors for the Father Bradley Shelter for Women & Children.
Shad M. Brown
Associate
Shad joined the firm as an associate in 2021 as an associate.
He attended the University of Southern Indiana earning a bachelor of science degree in 2017. He then continued his education at the Washington and Lee University School of Law and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2021. He became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 2021.
Shad will be focusing his practice on insurance defense, and general litigation
W. Mitchell Deep
Of Counsel
Mitchell joined the firm in 1979 as an associate, before being named a Partner, and moving to "of counsel" in 2021.
He attended the Western Kentucky University earning a bachelor of science degree. He then went on to the University of Louisville and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1979, and became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 1979.
Harry L. Mathison
Of Counsel
Harry joined the firm in 1977 as an associate, before being named a Partner, and moving to "of counsel" in 2019.
He attended the University of Notre Dame earning a bachelor of arts degree. He then went on to the University of Kentucky and earned his Juris Doctorate in 1977, and became a member of the Kentucky Bar in 1977.
